I missed a class last week and when I emailed a friend to ask what I had missed during the class he replied this :

We did a whole lot of nothing. he tried to show off [a computer program] again, then asked us what we’d like to do as a final project. individually.

most of us were like uhhhhh….. what’s this class about?

he said “mumble mumble stuff”
we said “what?”
he said” …”
we left
he didn’t

Light editing to make it slightly incognito. It would certainly appear that I havn’t missed a very important class, I find it rather sad because the subject of the class is something that I would like to learn but I fear it won’t be in this class that I will gain new knowledge.

This morning instead of a normal drawing class, we all went to the Atwater Market. It was so wonderful to walk outside in the sunlight and the perfect cloudless blue sky instead of a poorly lit room in the VA building. I walked around with Sue and Gen and we ate strawberries, mushed over cutesey squash (squashy squash squash) and ate a terribly good lunch at the bakery all the while sketching fruits, veggies, fish, meat and birds. It was one of those perfect mornings that I will keep in my heart during the horrible winter months.

We discussed Haloween and Rocky Horror Picture Show showings and how to dress, I hope we end up going together! They say I’m fine with a corset and a labcoat, I dunno just how comfortable I’d be, being dressed so skanky though.. we’ll have to see :) It’s neato to make new friends, especially when you feel you have so much in common. Also very cool since that drawing class lasts two full semesters.

I took them over to the Mouliné yarn store for a little while when we headed back, because yarn of different colours is as beautiful to look at as fresh fruits in a market. And you can squish it. Sue got two balls of a really pretty red & black yarn so I can make her a thin and long scarf and I got 3 balls of galway heathered green wool to make a pirate hat and bought yet another (!) pack of sock needles for mom because she looses them in the couch.

As always, halloween parties are at the same time, at two extremes geographically and I have a 8:30 class the following morning. One group is filled with old good friends who are less wild but more homey in a good way while the other will be an insane party with too many people I don’t remember the names of and that I havn’t seen in quite a long time… One side takes me off the island but promises to be mild enough to offer sleep while the other will be in taxi acess from my home all night long.

I was really hoping this year one of the two groups would take the opportunity to switch the party to the weekend since the 31st is a tuesday. I’m doomed. On the plus side, whereever I go, I’ll have a smashing costume!

I just saw the newest Order of the Phoenix pictures and one of them is really neat (close up of the bag)! Notice how Sybil holds a bag to her chest? It looks awesome! I’m afraid that once the hi-def version of the pics appear I will stare at it for hours to see what the design, colours and whatnot of the stitch count is. I definitly need a better screen now! ( yes I know I find excuses to spend way too easily for my credit card )

A few weeks ago I was thinking of all the things I wanted to buy eventually. Mostly how I wanted to set up all my digital stuff in my new appartement (when I move out… eventually) and I was thinking of getting a laptop and a good flat screen television set to use as a bigger screen when needed. Well Steve Jobs listened to my brain wave prayers and has answered it! The upcoming “iTV” is my new baby and is even wireless and lets you watch trailers on your couch by using the internet connection! weeee! It seems to sync in to the digital entertainement only but I’m confident it will make the television screen as computer screen easier to set up also.
Please let me squeal a little while I wait for spring 2007 :) (and save a LOT of money to afford all my gadgetses, my precious gadgetses )
