I got back on the 23rd from a full week of sunlight and waves, I don’t know how to describe it. It was perfect. I was with my family without the nitty-gritty of everyday life - between the lines : my mom didn’t bug me about the laundry or the state of my bedroom floor. It even took me a couple of days to get the roll of the sea out of my body, I kept wavering in the air standing up… too bad it’s already gone. I would love to keep doing it still.
Then on tuesday I had to go to this meeting for a class and t ended up being much more interesting than just a random gallery that we visit : it was a great conference on the future of IT. Unfortunatly half of the guest speakers were boring, but the other galf clearly made up for it. Not to mention the excellent free food, the free usb-key and the official looking canvas bag that made me feel like such a big shot. (free conference > 900$ conference is goooooood) Considering that I am graduating this semester and that when I get back after 3 months of travel I will dry on money and planning to move out, I was understandably a little anxious about finding a decent enough job to pay rent + laptop. But the dinner theme was how the IT world will have to fight to get to us, so it helps a lot. Thanks Debbie for trying to keep your ear open for me during the summer too :) I promise to send tons of postcards!
Speaking of trip, the second section has been decided saturday when judith spent the afternoon and evening over. Scotland leg of trip is… Glasgow -> Skye -> Harris -> Lewis -> Wick -> Orkneys -> Some Glen -> Dufftown -> Edinbourg ->Worksop -> London and then home… and I’m really thrilled that we’ll be spending time in the Outer Hebrides, I found a flickr image set and it looks fantastic and different!
I can’t wait.
