so relaxed

I was thinking today about what I wrote here yesterday. First I was right, I am definitely sore all over and I have trouble sitting down. But what I’m getting at is that gardening brought out the zen in me and I realized that I am completely ready to start a new semester. I was on edge all week about my classes, thinking I’d never manage to find a class that fit. But Sophie achieved a miracle and now I’m in a studio 2D & 3D art class and it doesn’t start at 8:30 am! What more could I possibly ask for? My schedule is decent, my workload should be manageable, my favourite season is starting soon(scarf wearing season) and there are streams of parties starting soon!

The only thing I could ask for is a lottery ticket… Now I am thinking what I could buy with it and I have trouble coming up with something. It’s corny but I think I would give it in shares to all my friends. I would give some to Debbie to help her student debts, I would give some to Bianca so she can buy the most luxurious bath towels (the sort that stays smooth even when you machine dry it without fabric softener), I would give some to Lorien so he can buy himself a new wardrobe without wearing Debbie’s old pants, I would give some to Lysanne so she can finally buy a wood turning bench and blades so she can make me a Wand ( Mahogany with husky hair core, 9 inches), I would give some to Guillaume so he can finish the renovations in his bathroom, I would give some to Judith even though she’s richer than I am :) … and then, I would go buy a couple of pair of shoes, an IKEA bookcase and maybe some more makeup. I think I would feel stupidly content! Which is really stupid because a ocuple of pairs of shoes, a bookcase amd makeup all added up is within my budget even if the shoes were Manolos or something.

I think I’m trying to put down into words this stream of consciousness so I can read it again when I want to kill myself over midterms :)

What this blog would be like if I owned a camera

Yesterday I did the unthinkable, I went biking for a whole 10 kms! I also nearly had a panic attack when my dad took me off the pedestrian & cycling road into a real road where there are cars… I think now he understands what fear is. Which is really a shame because I liked biking a lot, but there is unfortunately no way that I would do it at home if a side road in Val David freaked me out. Unfortunate also is that I am painfully aware of a certain sensitive region near the seat of the bike. So today I thought, eh, might as well do something that will make me feel properly sore all over, so I went ahead and did heavy chores in the garden.

I started by weeding my little garden and then took the spade out and dug a filthy hole to plant a new bush, which also means doing a whole new flowerbed. Because the Laurentians is a renowned land of rocks, after digging for only an hour I had enough rocks to make a nice little border around my little garden. I sat down with a strawberry daiquiri and enjoyed the wonderful view of my two heathers in bloom.

I don’t really know why gardening makes me so stupidly happy. I just know it hurts to do anything worthwhile, it’s completely pointless because you always have to start over each year and it can be incredibly costly for something that simply copies what Mother Nature is doing for free.

All I know is that days like this, moments like this, they make me feel at peace.
